Don't feel bad. I too am a newbie and Most of my quilts are lap quilts for family members. Each and every one I try something new and they are all flawed. No one cares (or even notice, probably). They are loved and used. We are our own worst critics, so I'll bet it will look perfect to him.

Carol from Pittsburgh:

Kelley:

Worked on a quilt and embroidery at the same time.. the quilt is not finished but I did finish the embroidered block and thought Id share..

Kelley-- So cute!   How big is the embroidery block?  That used a lot of different colors!  You're encouraging me to get a new embroidery machine.  I don't know if that's good or bad!

carol... Thanks... I used a 5 X 7 hoop for this but the design is about 6.25 X 4.25

Judy, I love your chicken quilt!!!  That is adorable and I'm sure it will do great for a goat rescue charity auction. :)  I want to make a quilt for a juvenile diabetes thing in 2014. Better get on it soon!

Diane, don't be so hard in yourself. I honestly never paid attention to that level if detail in a quilt before I started quilting myself. The quilt was made with love and if it's soft and warm and made special for him by you I can't imagine he would be upset by missing points. I wouldn't be. ((Hugs))

Couldn't find it Judy with that link :(

Not sure why that link didn't take you to the auction. Here's one that should work.  New Moon Farms Charity Auction

Scroll down to see the chicken quilt I made. It's based on a pattern by McKenna Ryan that I chopped up and redesigned.

Didash,

I'm new to quilting too. I think your cutting is good.  I would not give up on things with points.  My DS helped me realize I was not taking big enough seams they were not 1/4 inch seams I was making them too scant, LOL.  Keep working on having fun. :]

Quilt, have fun, spend less time worrying if it is perfect.

Little Goats?  Yes, they are so cute. My daughter has BIG goats she has rescued. One of them walked in the Jingle Bell 5K run/walk yesterday. Drew lots of attention and people wanting to take photos. She gets questions such as "What kind of dog is that?"  Oookkkaay.

Hahahhaa!  City folks, maybe?

I had a neighbor with pygmy goats, Nubian goats and pet skunks. A lady walking her dog asked what kind of goat the black and white ones were! Really!

Didash,  I wouldn't be worried about the points not perfect.   I love the process and still learning to make points and I've been quilting for 3 years! I love working with flannel and minky, esp for the backing.  On one quilt, I pulled the minky to the front and used it for the binding, made sure the batting was in the binding also and it made it so soft, you just have to cuddle in it.  I think it made the whole quilt!
