I finished quilting and binding 3 quilts this holiday weekend (see gallery), so I'm feeling good about that. Now I'm going to watch my new Craftsy class called "Dot-to-Dot Quilting" to come up with an idea for finishing MQ8. It's time I took my quilting skills beyond a simple all-over design.

Based on what I've seen of your quilts, I consider your skills already "beyond". But I know what you mean. Right now I'm working on a Sylvia block. It's nasty and I don't know why I choose it. Brides Boquet with a zillion Y seams and I'm determined to finish it. I hate Y seams and try to avoid them so I must have been in the midst of a brain fart when I choose this one to make.

Thanks, Judy. It's the quilting/stitching design work that I'm especially interested in trying to improve. The length of my stitches are more consistent now (I don't have a stitch regulator on my older HQ), but I haven't had much success in utilizing a variety of designs to fill in all the negative spaces on my quilts.
I would love a stitch regulator but afraid it probably will never happen. My quilting is mostly random with a few designs thrown in here and there.
Good luck Nancy, I'm sure your results will be terrific.
Angele:And hat and booties.
That should be one happy and warm baby.
Thanks Gini, Ginny and Weezee. I have fun knitting even if I like quilting better. Right now I'm making socks for Christmas for our friends to use at their cabins. I so wish to finish a quilt for my son. I don't think it will happen as work does get in the way sometimes. Lol

I finished a top that was 5 years old. Picked out the backing too. It's almost a quilt

I finished my DH Christmas quilt tonight and almost finished sewing on the binding for my DD Christmas quilt. Yahoo, Yippee, only took a year as they were suppose to be last years gifts. Im starting on a quilt kit my DD gave me last Christmas, she expects it to be done this year. Oh, well, I know you quilting sisters will understand even if my family does not. I wish there were more of me or more hours in the day. Susan
Yes, I did, as a matter of fact. Yesterday I made the first block of my Lone Star Sampler...only 8 more to go...have 1/2 of one of the blocks done so far this morning...it takes 9 blocks, each measuring about 29 inches square. Here's a pic of the first block, for those of you who didn't see if via snickerdoodle.
Karla, that is gorgeous!!! Love it! Can't wait to see the whole thing together!
