Bonita, hold her interest and you'll be quilting with her before long.  Her summer quilt is so pretty, no doubt she's happy with it.

I haven't yet today, but I think I'm getting ready to dive into making some more Loyal Union Soldier blocks...maybe I can get caught up before the next assignment; however, this group includes some foundation pieced blocks, something I've never tried before.  Anyone care to come over and give me a quick lesson?

Trying to catch up,on my Union Soldier blocks, got 4 done, been doing a bit of hand appliqué and working away on the long arm.  Feels good to be sewing again.

NOW I can get back to quilting!  This afternoon I dropped off my church bazaar items.  I made 10 funky chicken pincushions, 8 bitty bag purses, 20 luggage labels, 6 hand-embroidered dish towels, and 12 fabric star ornaments (thanks MN Deb for lending me the pattern).   Randy constructed one of his boxes made of exotic woods.  Dang - I didn't take pictures of any of it.  I'll have to bring my camera to the bazaar work day tomorrow and take pictures of the items on display.  Saturday is the actual bazaar.

So, what should I tackle next?  Well, I probably need to clean my workspace before I can do anything!

Karla, I've been working on the foundation pieced Loyal Union Sampler blocks today.  I was afraid to do them but read the Alex Anderson book.  My first attempt at paper piecing was actually my own design for these Christmas ornaments:

When doing those I discovered that I actually like foundation paper piecing!  Why didn't I know that it wasn't so hard? It makes getting points to be points pretty easy.

Pam, I love both of the quilts you did.  The one with the kitties is really unique.   Ginny
