Sweet bright happy quilt for a lucky first DGD.  Way to go Karla.  Is the pattern yours or did you follow someone else's pattern?  SO cute!!

Susan :
has anyone come across this problem before?  I have never seen fabric like this.

I haven't had this problem Susan, but I would definitely contact Keepsake Quilting either by email or phone and let them know about the problem.  See what they will do for you. I don't think they would want any negative type of information about their quilt kits being out and discussed.  If they're reputable and I think they are, they will work with you to rectify the situation.  Good luck.

Mimi:
Kelley, your mittens quilt is so cute.  I was wondering if the snowflakes are embroidered or part of the fabric.

Thanks Mimi.. The snowflakes are embroidered.. This was very fun to do...

No, it wasn't my pattern, it was a free pattern I downloaded, I just added the border that wasn't in the pattern.  It didn't give a designer's name or anything, but it was quick and easy and since I'm such a procrastinator, I needed quick and easy.

Nancy, I bet you don't need to appliqué minke.   It is a synthetic material and a straight stitch around the edge should work just fine.   Try it on a scrap.
