Beautiful work, Agnes.  Love it even though it is not in red.  Looks more vintage with what you have done.  Ginny

Agnes, your quilt is beautiful as usual. I love that you did it in the brown tones.

Judy T-Bellingham:
Love this Agnes. It's inspiring me to work on the Vintage Tin.

Judy--Thank you. I've been eyeing up the Vintage Tin pattern as well. My son has just purchased a 1941 Chevy panel van that he plans to restore. Would love to do something like it for him or at least use it as starting point . If you would ever be be of mind to part with the pattern let me know.

Thanks, Ginny. I have done a number of different quilts and hangings in redwork style. Not one has been red and every one I'm planning on now will also not be red.

Bonita and Roxanna--Thank you for the compliments. It was automatic thought to me that this should be done in brown. Also I kept the brown embroidery floss as close as possible to the same tone but there are slight variations. Having given up cross stitch I no longer need every color that was put out by Anchor, the line I decided to build up. I have another range of more rusty/golden browns set aside should I decide to do this again. I'm thinking my girlfriend will take it home when she sees it. That automatically means I will do it again--for myself.

Agnes, your work is gorgeous.  I am thinking about getting out my latest embroidery quilts to work on this winter while sitting in my chair - I love Over the Hill and have it here along with Snow Flurries???  I think I have about 6 of their patterns and keep telling myself how I want to start them - in packing up some things yesterday I came across one about the Bear... I glanced at it and took it to the bedroom instead of being packed...teehee thinking it would be a special one for my newest grandson... right now it has gotten so cold here I don't want to get out of my chair and you are inspiring me so so much... now to get the fur babies to find another chair besides mine so I have room to work...teehee... keep inspiring me please!

I still have a long way to go on this pattern. I only have two done and one partially. I've been remaking most of the designs. The one with the general store, I substituted my grandparents homestead here in Whatcom County. I added a sign to the bridge and will change others so they are local such as license plates.

Judy--It was just a thought. I have the wax paper cut and have been collecting images to actually make the designs truly original. But if I end up making another Over the River this would be on the back burner anyway. There's no question that the embroidery is time consuming on its own without remaking the designs.

Thea--Thank you. This the only patterns of theirs that I own. I however have a number of other embroidery/quilt works either in progress or in the planning stages.
