ramona, your quilt is beauiful.   i think the swirlies would look good in the squares, too.    my rule of thumb, made to be broken it isn't cast in concrete, is if the quilting is pieced and squarish i do swirly or leaves, something curvy;  and if i have an applique quilt that has a lot of curved edges i like straight lines for quilting.     your quilt is so beautiful i think anything you do will be wonderful. .

Marie:

Christine, your quilt is absolutely beautiful!  I can't wait to see the embroidered blocks that go along with it.

Ditto on all the lovely work.

Ginny:

Wow Kelley, you bought something and immediately came home to try it out, I am impressed.  Usually, I wait until I have whatever is on my sewing table to finish 1st and then forget how to do what I bought.  Like the fall color, or Halloween, table runner and love the frog.     Ginny

Thanks Ginny.. I was so interested in these I had to try it out right away...lol..

I have another book with template I have to try soon..

I think I worked on 3 different quilts today

1. it was 12:30 am when I finished stitching the binding to my 'ugly quilt'.

2. started on a string quilt, sorted out all my blue scraps and strings.  Some left over binding, some from clothing, and some from squaring up the end of fabrics plus the usual not quite square pieces etc.  some from strip piecing leftovers and log cabin left overs.  Made 6 blocks.  Looks like I have enough to make a full sized quilt, maybe enough for a queen.

3. Put the backing and top of my stained glass jean quilt on the frame and spent a couple of hours looking up simple flowerz to quilt in the blocks larger than 4x4.  made a few to fit in the 4" blocks just to sprinkle around for effect.

I am pooped! early bed tonite!

I worked hard the last two day's cutting the 2" squares for the stamp exchange. It really hurt my neck and shoulders to do that. I have 40 more to cut out and I will put them up for now and go back to working on two quilts. I saw that they are to be mailed in January, I was just afraid that I would put them off.  I also got some touch up painting done today inside my home. Now I am thinking I want to paint the molding darker than the walls so I don't see the dirt as well, plus I think it would look nicer.
