I don't need to have it completed until May, but today I have been planning my "15 Shades of Gray" quilt for the guild's challenge.

Do you think these triangle units are HSTs, QSTs, or something else?  I want to do something like this, but just half of the shape - like big flying geese - between two wide side borders only.

I agree - they look like  HSTs. Since I am a big PP'er,  I would PP them in rows - so much easier to match up.

Obtw - I love the quilt and the idea of all grays. So simple but stunning.

I need some opinions on my latest project, please.  I am making this quilt for my new nextdoor neighbor, a young girl who just bought her first house.  Somewhere on the quilt I want it to say, "Welcome to the Neighborhood."  I don't know if I want it to just have that somewhere in the lower right of the quilt on one of the houses, have it across the middle in the wide black sashing, or have it spread out over the three wide black sashings. I would put (Welcome) in the top one, (to the) in the middle, and (Neighborhood) in the bottom one. I'll probably do it in red thread if it's on the black sashing. If it's on one of the houses then I'll decide the color depending on which house it is.  Please excuse the condition of the quilt top- I haven't run the sticky roller over it yet to remove all the threads!

Carol,  I LOVE your quilt.  --and the thought behind it.    I think I would tend to  spread the welcome out on the 3 black sashes, as you suggested.  I think your new neighbor will be floored with that beautiful quilt.    Ginny

Carol,

Your quilt really is wonderful !! You told me what you were doing, but I never dreamed it was so involved. Your neighbor is going to love this !  : )

What about stitching her address on one of the home's and stitch Welcome to the neighborhood on the top black boarder.

Nancy that quilt is sooo pretty.  It will look nice in grays too.  Did you make this one?  Thinking not if you are asking if they are HST's.  Looks like a lot of work.
