Flojo:
I really like this method of making jeans quilt tops! never do you have to sew 2 pieces of denim together and your seams can be the standard 1/4 inch.  Having a ball!!!!!

It looks great. WTG.

Patricia Faye:
So my nephew & his wife are expecting a little boy in September so I found this pattern in one of the many quilting magazines I subscribe to.  It was pretty siimple. She sent me a picture of the baby's room so I would be able to match the colors.  Blues, tan & greys so this is what I finished today.  I appliquéd his first name (Boone T) on the top and his last name on the bottom.  I decided to use some of the leftover fabrics to make the backing   I think she will like it.

It's fantastic. She'll definitely love it.

Thank you so much everyone for the nice compliments on my baby quilt. It took me about two months after I got the fabrics to find a pattern that spoke to me. I was very nervous, but feel so much better now that it got your QCA approval!! I just need to make the label and it can go to its new home.

Patricia, I like your baby quilt. I like both the front and back. It's like two quilts into one.

I have been working on two crib size quilts, for DGS2 and DGS3, they are I spy jar quilts. One or two more days and I should have the blocks done enough to put up on the design wall. They will both have the same fabrics and/or pictures, just in different locations. The background fabric was going to be the same color too, they like to fight over things(cups, candy, toys, blankets, afghans, almost anything.) DGS2 is 2 1/2 and DGS3 is 1 1/2.

I am thinking I need to read this thread daily - lol. I end up going back two or three pages each time I come back just to catch up.

Diane - so sad for your loss. Loosing a parent is hard but loosing both so close together is very difficult.

Flojo, Angele and Patricia your quilts are fantastic - love them all. The Science Fair is so unique. I never think "out side" the box like that but it will make a fantastic baby quilt.

I have been working on Blue and White Sparkle Variable stars 3', 6' and 12" that will be in a wall hanging for a Christmas gift. The 12" blocks are nested and all those will have a 6" block inside and two will have a 3" in the center. I also have finished a 30's top and a QoV top this last week - both need to be quilted. Pictures to follow!!

This is a picture of what I decided to work on this week. After spending half of yesterday looking for the pattern so I could sew the pieces together I decided to find the pattern online and just look at the picture on pattern. Then I noticed I had not cut the antlers for the deer so spent all morning going through every nook and cranny trying to find the pattern. I was determined to find this pattern but could not think of any place else it could be. I have several containers on a table with some UFO's and had not looked in them because you can see most of what is in there and after all why would my pattern be in one of them instead of in the bag for this project...

So for all of you who have misplaced patterns you never know where they might be. My pattern was in a container with my practice fabric for the Country Cottage project in the  Appliqué group.

I am  hoping to finish this before Christmas. I kind of dread sewing the stars together since the few I had done the points did not line up. I had thought about putting a strip of red sashing between them but really like the pattern as it is. Will be crossing my fingers a lot in the next few days.
