Prairie Dog:
I love that block.  What is it or where can I find the pattern for it?

It's called double aster.  I got it out of an older book, but you can google it and get free patterns.   Here's one website: http://www.quilterscache.com/D/DoubleAsterBlock.html

I picked up the mail this morning (yesterday's mail) before the mail carrier arrived today.  I'll check again in the morning for more, but right now I'm too tired to make another walk around the block in this heat to check for today's mail, unless I have to make a trip to the grocer because we are out of milk.

Received 2 more blocks in the mail today, from Gini and Patti...I'll try to post pictures of the ones I've received in the last week sometime today.

Whew Patti, i am impressed!

So far I have managed to avoid blocks with 1/8" dimensions...but I will admit this is a very pretty star-block.  I like it a lot!!!

I did a type of paper piecing with it.  Didn't even notice the dimensions.

That was a smart way to go...  It is a beautiful block!

Karla, I mailed another but different block today and the receipt says...it should get there on Wednesday.  The P.O.  could not tell me anything about my other one except it left my branch on July 22.  I am still hoping it may show up someday and I wish I had added tracking which I did add to this one.

Karla:

I like them both, but I'll have to put then on the design board to see which one will look the best.

Karla,

Use both one on front and one on the back!  They are both so pretty.  What size blocks are you using?

I'll be watching for it, Bev, and I'll let you know when it shows up and if the first one shows up.

Karla, when you get them all up on the design wall, will you take another picture for us? This is such a special quilt.

Yes, I definitely will, if I can find a spot in my house that is big enough.  The first 20 took my whole wall...I'm going to have to do some moving around to get them all up.

I finally made my block today...the only sewing I have managed to get done in the past week.  It felt good to sit down at the machine.  Made it on my FW, the first sewing I have actually done on it.  Took me a while to figure out how to thread it...and the bobbin was cumbersome for me, but I think everything will fall into place once I do it a few times.

Karla

The bobbin feels clumsy to me everytime I use it.  I think if I sewed on her more it would be better.  Those top load bobbins have spoiled us.

You're right, Nana, my eyesight isn't great anymore and even after turning all of the lights on and having grandson hold a flashlight I had trouble with it, but I finally got it done.
