Has anyone ever seen a Dresden Heart pattern? I was at a quilt show and there was a quilt there in that pattern but no one knew where the pattern came from. It's like a Dresden plate only in a heart shape with a heart in the middle too. Any info appreciated.
I found two patterns, and did not care for either one, I think any of the quilters here could make a more beautiful dresen heart. the only dresden hearts Ifound were at these two sites. I'm not putting these down, just thought with more pieces in the plate it could be more attractive, or perhaps make the plate and chose a large and small heart of your own design and cut them into the plate. JMHO What do y'all think?
I have seen some beautiful dresden heart quilts and wish I could tell you where - but I think it would be easy to design a pattern for one.
marilyn try these sites and marti mitchell has one
gini in north idaho
For some reason I can't open either link but will keep trying. Thanks for the quick response.
Thanks, I'll look these up. Knew I came to the right place:)
At fatcatpatterns.com, you can find a pattern Dresden Hearts. Click in kid quilts. Maybe it is the pattern that you want.
Thanks for everyone's input on this. I now have several more quilt sites bookmarked. Just what I need, more inspiration. You are a great resource!
I made a dresden heart quilt 20 years ago. I will have to do some searching to see if I still have the pattern for it.
The Dresden Heart from village depot is gorgeous, too bsad it is sold out.
joni, it wan't sold as a pattern i think it was a finished quilt. it wouldn't be too hard to design. draw an inner heart for center, decide how wide you would want it and draw the bigger heart around the outside of the inner heart. then decide how wide you want the blades. this pattern had pointy blades, but you could round them. or do one every other. all you have to design is one side of the heart, then just trace it on the other side. do you want some help? gini
Yes, I have made it! It is the most beautiful quilt I ever made.
I entered it in a show and came home with my one and only blue ribbon.
In moving the pattern has been lost, but I promise I will find it and make another one.
I will look for a picture and scan it and send to you as soon as possible.
Thank y ou for showing me that I am not the only one interested in this beautiful quilt.
Congratulations on your Blue Ribbon. Anxiously awaiting a pic of this amazing quilt.
