I may be buying a 1937 model soon.

Marie, if money were no object, I would buy this one for you.

Marie, I do have "Grape Poupon" with me. She loves to travel. Never balks when being move around. Always quiet, just a joy to see on. I do use either a 1/4" quilting foot or a walking foot. She loves both of them. Are you planning on getting one? You need a red one!

I did not get a walking foot with mine, got a ruffler instead, which I'll probably never use.  Where is the best place to buy supplies, needles, walking foot, etc?

I didn't get a walking foot or 1/4 inch foot with mine either, however, I have purchased the 1/4 inch foot.  I'll probably purchase a walking foot for it also, although I plan on just piecing with the FW machine, so I'm not sure if I need to or not.  I purchased my 1/4" foot off of ebay from a Sew'n'Vac out of Athens, GA.

Jacy, you are so sweet!  Thank you for thinking of me.  It is a gorgeous re-fabbed featherweight but unless I can be re-fabbed too, I'll take my 1937 aged as I have.  LOL  I really want one that has aged by the grace of God and is still in good working order like me.  :  )  Michelle's husband has a 1937 that we'll be having a conversation about later today, hope he has what I want.

Karla, I really do like the 1/4" quilting foot. I use it daily. Mostly for piecing but if you do any thicker material ( I do jeans) I like the walking foot. I found mine on the Internet for less than $20. Usually free shipping.

Debbie, let me ask my husband. He's found all the best sites for supplies.

Michelle, no I didn't.  Things got kind of busy and by the time I thought of it, it was too late.  I'll try again today.

I'm just in the planning stages for a cover for my new/old featherweight.  I've been looking for an embroidery design of a featherweight and found one that I liked here:

http://perfectlittlestitches.com/proddetail.asp?prod=sewfeather

Has anyone used the embroidery designs from this website?  If so, did you have good luck with them?  The price is right (under $10), but if the quality is poor it may not be worth stitching it out.  I've found nice designs in the $20-30 range, but that's too pricey for me...

I have a question for all featherweight enthusiasts. Here is my dilemma. My uncle has two of them and is willing to sell me one. One is a 221 and the other a 222 with free arm. Second one is in better shape as in no scratches while first one has a slight scratch from rubbing i imagine. Both have cases and second model has more attachments. First one has the manual. Which one is better in your opinion?  Both are quiet and run like a dream.  Hmmm decisions, decisions...

Angele, I don't know anything about the 222. I have lots of attachments for my 221, but I don't think I'll ever use them, all I do is straight stitch for piecing.

I know that parts and info for the 221 are readily available, I don't know about the 222.

What do you like the best about your 221?
