A friend gave me a quilt pattern that I wanted to try, so I pulled out all the black and white FQ's I have been collecting to start cutting for this quilt. Before I made the first cut I remembered I wanted to make a snowball block quilt with these. I cut out a couple of 6.5 squares for that and then decided I might want to pair that block with a nine patch block so I cut 5  2.5 squares from each FQ for that. Then I decided to cut a couple of 1.5  strips for a possible b&w log cabin and the rest will go for the 5 inch strip quilt. I was amazed how far a fat quarter can go.

Gini....Since I am feeling the effect of being bent over all day cutting the above I can imagine the pain you are in. I suggest a glass of wine....or 2.....but maybe not if you are using pain relievers  Maybe the car should wait.

i walked the mile back from taking the car to the car hospital, it was good for my back.    i couldn't wait with the car, the bumper is being held together with duct tape.  i should have gotten a picture. that stuff is amazing.    my SIL taped it up two weeks ago and it is still holding the bumper on.   it's a cheap fix, maybe i should have just gone with the duct tape and called it good.

gini:
i put my back out taking a casserole out of the oven.

Gini - hope your back is better, I feel for you.  I did the same thing a few weeks ago and almost had DH take me to ER at one point, I hurt so bad.  heating pad helps mine and I tried a few of those heated back strips(Salon Pas) and that helped along with the Med Dose pack the Dr prescribed.  took about a week before I felt almost normal.  don't really remember what normal is anymore, been so long!  LOL

Will do!  Oh wait, that wasn't meant for me?

Seriously though, Bev, I hope you and Gini and all of those in pain are feeling better soon.

Here's my attempt at my first free motion quilting.  Of course, I have a stitch regulator so that does help once I got the hang of it.  I'll show pics once it gets finished here at home.
