Karla, the purse is lovely! Be sure to have tissues handy when DGS gives it to Mom. Give that little guy a hug from this Gram, he's so thoughtful. He must also value his Grandma, $50 he was willing to give you. Tell him family gets discounts, especially when they're as thoughtful as he is, when you settle on a lesser price.
This is so beautiful. His mother will love it. She is one lucky lady.

great bag Karla!
Elaine Phillips:I don't know about the fabric swaps, but I won't do anymore birthday block swaps because if your birthday is in November or December, as Karla's and mine are, you come up short blocks because by that time everyone is tired of making blocks.
Yes, I'm really thankful that a couple of people sent two blocks, which gave me enough to put together a small quilt. I put it together at the Branson Retreat, but have yet to get it backed and quilted.
I haven't actually sat down at the sewing machine yet, but I've been writing down what I need to cut out in order to finish blocks for my Attic Window and pinwheel quilt tops. Probably cut today and sew tomorrow...and the next day. :)
Elizabeth, I love your spring bed quilt. Very pretty. :)
Great purse! I like the family discount idea because I worried he would be hurt if you didn't take his money.

I tend to agree that the longer a swap runs and the more complicated the sewing requirements are, the more people are going to drop out. Sorry you got short-changed.
Karla, big points for your DGS! Great fabric choices and just generally, what a sweetheart. Nice work on the bag. :)
Working on my "coffee is ready" quilt. On the long arm today and making abstract coffee cups as the Quilting. I love doing free hand pics.
Here's a few pics as I'm going along. Let me know if the quilting looks ok?
Oh No Michelle!! You'd better give that quilt to me so no one else will see it! ;o)
Your quilting is awesome. I love this quilt!

Looks great, Michelle. Your quilting is amazing! I hope to someday be able to draw freehand continuous line pictures more complicated than a simple flower / leaf / star / heart. I am quite impressed by your coffee cups! They're so loose and curvy and pretty, yet I knew immediately exactly what they were. Very nice work.
Karla, the purse is beautiful, he did a wonderful job picking the fabric and his mom has done a great job raising such a thoughtful son
Michelle, beautiful quilt and such great quilting, I can only freehand feathers. LOVE your coffee cups
It looks fabulous, Michelle. Ginny
