Mimi, your DGD did a great job on her pillows.

Is, I **love** those log cabins!  Great choice of colors and fabrics.  What sort of layout are you planning, or do you not know yet?

I'm thinking my next quilt might be a log cabin.  All the ones I've made in the past though have been paper pieced because I was worried about getting my cutting off and getting the strips mixed up. Anyone have pointers for a newbie?

Mimi, that little girl is just so pretty. Cute as a button. Her sewing HST's is so impressive to me. Those put fear in my heart. I have never sewn one that turned out right! Should have had you teach me that at the retreat!

Here is what I have done. FInally! A TA DA!

I have been steadily working on my newest commissioned t-shirt quilt. Finished the quilting for it yesterday and binding it up today. I always get so excited when I get close to finishing and shipping a quilt. I have one waiting in reserve and another promised at the end of the month, so I have to keep whipping them out! But it's fun. Best job I've ever had.

Mimi, what a sweetheart!  She looks so serious in that 1st pic but look at that beautiful smile in the 2nd!  Tell her "good job" on her pillows for me.

Mimi--she is sure cute!  And did a great job on her sewing.  My GD is going to be 6 in another month or so and I have told her that she can start learning to sew on my machine when she turns 6. She is so very excited about it.  I have a very old mechanical machine, so no computer parts to worry about.  She helps with ironing and pinning now, as well as learning to choose color/fabric combinations.

Is--I love the log cabin.  I keep debating about making another one.  It was great fun, and I learned TONS about making sure that my seams were accurate.

Tammy--lovely t-shirt quilt.  I haven't had the energy to make one as yet.

I have a lady at work that has me doing her alterations.  She now thinks that I should open a side business for it.  Ugh...not what I really wanted to do, but it's easy enough to hem pants/dresses, etc.

And I finished the baby quilt that was commissioned.  I can't believe I was paid $50 PLUS the cost of material to do something that I love so much!  I am just flabbergasted!  I didn't set the price, I let her set it, and she paid for all the materials.  Now, back to reality of getting done the ones that are in process!  And my swaps....HSTs here I come, when I get home from my weekend away that is...
