chain stitching

when chain stitching pieces, how to lock stitches? or do I?

generally locking your stitches, or back stitching is not necessary with quilting.  It is much faster to skip that part and much easier to undo mistakes!  There are some exceptions, such as inserting a piece where you only want to stitch to the quarter inch seam. 

stitching to the end usually holds the stitch long enough to get the next step of stitching those pieces together.

I recently went back to sewing clothes and discovered the need to back stitch again.

Sewing clothes?? I barely even remember doing that! Used to sew most all of my clothes and for the kids. That was so long ago. Really don't want to go there again.

Temps here in the high 80's at my sister's place. We are looking forward to going home tomorrow here it is only in the mid-70's. We are not hot weather people.
