WOW, Kris. That is stunning!

Quilters are people who strip so they won't go topless.

Ginny:

Kris, that lone star quilt is beautiful.  I think the blues and yellows are my favorite for this.  Are you hand quilting it?     Ginny

Yes Ginny I'm hand quilting. I had it on a frame but took it off when we moved here. I never got back to it. I plan on taking those stitches out and starting again.

Thanks for all the complements.

Beautiful, Kris!  Will you try hand quilting it again, or will you do it by machine this time?

I will be hand quilting again Nancy. I have to take out the old stitches to put it back on the frame.

I have really enjoyed reading your responses and researching your suggestions!  You all are so helpful.  The pics you two ladies posted are fabulous!

I haven't made a solid decision yet on how I'm going to create the lone star for her, but I certainly feel a little more confident than I did.  Thanks so much for your input.  I'll post a pic when I get it done (don't check back for that picture next week or anything....lol).

Kris that is beautiful!  I haven't tempted it yet, but have a precut kit I keep putting back in the pile for "next time".

Donna, that is beautiful!  I noticed you are from Winthrop.  I have a friend in Carlton.  She got me into quilting about 13 years ago.  Do you go to the quilt shop in Twisp?

Yes, but we've only lived here about 10 years...moved from the wet side of the hill to the dry side...lol!  Marge P actually lives just outside Twisp, and yes we both go to the Twisp quilt store on occasion.  You might want to look at our pictures of snow dying fabric in March.  Marge P, Patti, and myself (all on QCA) took a class at the Twisp LQS on snow dying and have had a great time with it.

Why don't you pm me with your friends name...I may know her already!  Or maybe not.  We are having a mini retreat at the Methow Valley Inn (Twisp)  in late May. Maybe she would like to drop in for a visit.
