Hi...I'm Karen and have just joined the club today...

I am in Amish country in NE Ohio. We have a lot of quilters in our area of the woods!

Hi Karen, welcome to the family, I know you'll enjoy it here.  Amish country has some of the best quilters in the world, happy to have you join us.  We'd love to see some of your creations so when you get a chance maybe you could post some pics.

Oh, Karen you are going to love this. Ah, should have started with welcome, Karen. Sorry.

There is an Amish Retreat every year. Someone will be sure to fill you in on that. There are other quilter's around her esomewhere from your area, I think.

Look around and be sure to download some photos to your gallery. We love to take a peek. Look at all the groups, Might be one you would want to join. Lots to do. And, we are a chatty bunch so plan to drop in as often as you can for a chat. Hop on over to "What Are You Doing Today "for that.

Always happy to find another quilter here.

Hi Karen:  I just joined this week too.

I used to live in the same area - I was in Harpersfield Township (near Geneva).  My sister still lives in Thompson and my step mom is still in Geneva.  I go home to visit every other year.  I was just there last August for my 30th high school reunion (graduated from Eastlake North in 1982)

Moved away from the cold in 2004 to sunny New Mexico.

I once tried to have the amish quilt a top that my granny had made, they really wanted exorbitant prices and that was about 15 years ago.  So, I am learning to do it myself!  I still have that top, but I'm going to need oodles of practice before I tackle that one, it's very difficult I think.

Hi Karen and welcome to the group.  I am fairly new to the site and the group has already been very helpful.  Happy Quilting
