I RECENTLY RETIRED AFTER 30YEARS AS AN ONCOLOGY(CANCER) NURSE. I KNOW HOW IMPORTANT PRAYER IS TO RECOVERY. YOUR BOTH ON MY LIST.
Susan, I am so sorry to hear the news about the melanoma diagnosis for your DH. That can be a very fightening thing. You are certainly both going to be on my prayer list. I hope they find that the melanoma is just localized and not in any of the lymph nodes. Prayers going up right now. Ginny
DH and I will certainly pray for a complete recovery to this diagnosis. Strength and peace to both of you.
Thank You Everyone! Your prayers and words of encouragement are priceless. We really appreciate it. . Susan
Praying for you and DH both. Know that whatever you face, you will never face it alone. God will always be right at your side.

Hi Gang, This has been a tough week. We got the call from Dr. from DH's surgery and he has bladder cancer. They got all of the spot but it had started on the lining of the bladder. He's going to go thru a type of chemo where they put it directly into the bladder thru a small catheter. It will start in a couple weeks. One day a week for 8 weeks. Pray that we've caught it in time. He's got a good attitude towards it. His mother, up north, is a mess since Dad only passed 4 months ago and now a second son with cancer. BIL passed 4 1/2 years ago. I'm taking one day at a time and trying to sew as much as I can to try to stay sane. Thanks for letting me vent.

So sorry to hear this news, Diana. Chemo through a catheter into the bladder sounds like a cutting edge new treatment. I will pray that the good Lord and modern medicine will see him through! I'm glad his attitude is good as that makes it easier for you as the care giver. Make sure to take care of yourself, too!

Diana, I sincerely hope that your DH does well with his treatment and it is successful. Keep strong, he will get thru this.
My 2 nurse friends got the same diagnosis with the same treatment offered. That was in the mid 80s and they are both doing well now. My prayers for strength and understanding are with you now. I really hope that your husband does as well as they have, but then each case is a new thing on its own. Keep the faith. Ginny

Oh, so much for this being a cutting edge technique. Well, it's a tried-and-true technique then.
I'm sorry the news was bad. I'm glad they found it though. I'll be watching for an update.
