Kris, your new baby is beautiful! Are you going to bring her to Oregon? Can't wait to meet you.
Probably not Karla. I usually bring hand work and no checked bags.
I'm looking forward to meeting you as well.
Kris, so glad to see your new- -old machine and table. Have not seen one in such good shape before~~you surely lucked out! Hope you enjoy using it as much as so many others do, they're really fun to sew on - I do my Bonnie Hunter scrap blocks on mine!

Hi Gang, Well, I did a bit of sewing on my new, old Featherweight. Once I got the needle put in right and it finally picked up the bobbin thread, it would actually sew...lol I think I'm going to love sewing on this. It's just the right size for sewing in my living room upstairs. There are sometimes when I just want to do strip piecing and can do it while watching tv.
Hey, Nana, Just wondering if it's possible to put new cords on Featherweights?? Or should I call sewing machine repairman that I use and he can do it or tell me where it can be done. He's been in the business so long, I'm sure he could probably do it for me. I also need the cord changed on a very old iron that still works great but needs a new cord (it's wrapped in fabric it's such an old iron). The steam iron needing the new cord was my grandmother's and it gets a lot hotter than the new ones. She took in ironings for other people to earn extra money and it's had a lot of use, but still going strong after 60 years.
I'm so glad I got this Featherweight. Now to have fun.

Weezee, you must have a newer model. My 1948 does not have lines on the throat plate, so I'm dependent on a seam gauge. Glad to hear it's sewing well for you! Wow, so many FWs purchased recently. We could start our own club back in the groups section of the QCA website.

Do you not have a 1/4" foot for yours? I bought one on-line for about $12.

Hi Diana, I sent my new old featherweight in to get cleaned and adjusted, I also had a new cord put on her while she was there. The cord was $20 and he didn't charge any more that his normal cleaning fee.
