Marie:

Kris, your new baby is beautiful!  Can't wait for mine to arrive.  What year was it made in.  I'd love one made in 1937, the year of my birth.

Nana, could you be on the lookout for one for me?

Thanks Marie.

Mine is a 1937.

Frances:

Kris,

With all these machines you are going to have to get a new house, I think this summer i might have to go to a few car boot sales and see what i can find.

We're just renting our current home so I can look for one that will fit. My sewing room will be huge. LOL

Love your machine Kris, I sew on mine often, saves changing thread colors when needed.  My featherweight is totally awesome, with all the original feet, needles, oil and book.

Enjoy yours...I'm looking for a treadle, I know where there is a gorgeous one, but the price...ouch!  May just get it anyhoo!

I love that Frances, we call them yard sales.

Marie,

I think they are slightly different, someone has a big field advertises that they are holding a car boot sale people turn up with load of stuff packed in the back of there cars, lay it out on tables and sell it to anyone.

Sometimes you get great bargains.

lots of love

Frances, way out west in Washington and Oregon these are called "Swap Meets" (not much swapping though, usually just selling).  They are generally held in the old Drive-In Theater lots (one way for the owners to bring in a little money as the income for drive-ins has really dropped as home DVD's etc. have taken hold.  Most of them are slowly going bankrupt.)

Oh me too. The table really is impressive for it's age. I wish I could have stayed home to play. I'm leaving early (overtime) and will be up all night.

Its beautiful Kris, the table looks really big is it, or is it just the way the photo looks.

Either way you best lock it up otherwise i might just pop over and borrow it.

lots of love

Kris, the next one is mine!  The one Nana snagged for me is a 1950.  Asked her to look out for a 1937 for my next one, hope it comes.
