I sew on my kitchen table. I got tired of my machine wiggling and not staying put so I went to the dollar store and purchased no slip shelf liner. I cut a piece for under my machine and another for under my foot pedal. Now everything stays put and makes me a happy sewer.
I also sew at the dining table & had the same problem. I cut a hunk out of an old yoga mat for use under my machine. Same great results - no more slippin' around!
Do you have any ideas for how to keep the weight of a quilt from pulling off table while binding? I am still struggling with this.
I pull up my cutting table behind me and let it hold the weight of the quilt. The quilt also needs to have someplace to rest after it's been through the machine. I've also heard of people using their ironing boards. Hope that helps!
