Look at these wonderful custom blocks Mary's grandchildren drew!   She transferred the drawings to photo fabric, and she'll pull it all together with the bright solid fabrics she purchased yesterday. This is a memory-style quilt she's making for herself.   More to come on this later!

A favorite retreat activity is arranging blocks.  Karla let us play with her birthday blocks.  Gini is listening to our thoughts and moving blocks here and there and there and here.

Sorry that we got started late this morning.  We couldn't get on the site.  Are you having problems at home, too?

Karla invented a new technique.  It's called "practice sewing."  It's done with no bobbin thread.  You can go a long way without any worry of having to stop and use your ripper.

I think the whole site was having problems this morning.  Just don't blame yourself.  Nothing came thru until just after 11 am.    Ginny

Mary's grandkids did a great job  and I like the setting fabric too.  That quilt is going to be awesome.    Ginny

Bonita used that colorful border she purchased yesterday on this bright and beautiful quilt made from strips she received in the batik strip swap here on QCA.

Elaine Phillips:

Deb finally finished a top. Yeh for her! Isn't it cute?

Deb, if you don't mind my asking. I would love to know the size of the blocks on that quilt. It is so cute. Your's is beautiful.  I would love to make some of those for Quilted Hugs From Maddie.  Quick quilt to make so in April We have even more to donate to kids, that were victims of the tornado, in Adairsville, Ga. Right now, it is looking like we will have 50, or more, to donate. Nan's LQS has taken donated fabric and the Quilt Guild Nan and Maddie are a part of, are picking it up, at the LQS, and making the quilts and then leaving them off at the shop. Also the LQS are doing 2 Sit and Sew's to make quilts for this Charity.

Tell Gini to kepp trying , the right side seems to feel heavy and the left side light.  Sorry, that's the best way I can describe it.  Just not balanced- something like me.  LOL   Ginny

Too funny!!!! But I absolutely love the top she made using thread. I have a bunch of batik FQs that are now screaming to me they want to become something like that. I'm busy sewing at home but checking in regularly to see the fun you are having. That is when I can get on.
