Can anybody tell if an old quilt can be repaired? If so what is the best way to repair them?
It would probably be best if you could post a pic to get some more accurate answers. I've heard of vintage quilts being repaired though but need more details.
Quilting My Rainbow
This one only has the very outer edge of the patch left.
Here are 4 different patches that are in different stages of deterioration.
This patch has nothing left of it.
There are more patches. But, you can see what is happening with the quilt.
Being a crazy quilt with the embroidery along the edges of the fabric definitely makes it much more difficult to repair. You would need to redo the embroidery as well.
