jeanine, nice job with your fabric. i like the black in the center, nice touch. gini
gini in north idaho
It is interesting Jeanine. It does disguise the fabric well enough I think, with the other darks it shows basically as white.
Jeanine, what a transformation!
i think i might have to pass on this contest i've been to the studio twice in the last week. i don't buy ugly fabric. everytime i pull one out for selection, then i remember all the wonderful things i wanted to do with it and i fall in love with it all over again. gini
Come on now. There has to be one that doesn't come up to your high standards, Just post a pic and we will let you know if it is ugly. I didn't consider the piece I choice as ugly either but boy alot of other people did.....ROFLOL
Jay-Marie - your pups are beautiful! The fish fabric isn't that bad, I can see it looking good in a quilt with the right babrics.
Wow Marilyn, you disguised "ugly" very well!
Jeanine - your block does hide the ugly quilte well.
Heck aren't those prizes enough to motivate you to find one little FQ of ugly Gini... there isn't a piece in there that has been waiting forever to be put into a quilt... that one piece you have absolutely no idea why you bought it.. or why someone gave it to you except to get it out of their stash...lol
Where do we find the quilts that people have already done with their ugly fabric?
The posts and pictures on this thread have been so entertaining. I still don't think that that many of the fabrics are really ugly, but then I love paisley (that seems to be a minority opinion here LOL) so maybe I just have quirky taste in fabric, huh? Anyhow, I'm looking forward to seeing how each of you manages to turn your ugly ducklings into swans.
Joyce it is so much fun to watch. I have enjoyed just looking at all the fabrics and wondering how we are going to judge...lol... we will though. Those prizes will be awarded.
Marilyn, I really like what you've done with your ugly fabric. Can't wait to the whole quilt.
Jeanine, I'm amazed at what you have done with your fabric. I was looking at it last night trying to find some colors that you could use with it. I showed it to my DH and we agreed that your fabic is the most challenging posted yet.
Come on Gini, we want you to play too. I didn't have anything in my stash either, so I took DH to Joann's and pointed him at the FQ bin and told him to pick out the ugliest he could find. Maybe the grands could help you pick something.
i found some today, i had to dig for it though, it is truly ugly, actually i found two of them right together, what could i have been thinking? so i will try to put both of them in the same quilt gini
Ok Sandy and Gini we want to see your ugly fabrics.....
