Kris:You can buy the interfacing with the grid already printed.
I used interfacing with a 2" grid when I made this, but my squares were only 1" so I ironed 4 squares in each square on the grid. I don't know if they make the gridded interfacing with 1" squares. Also It was pretty thick and bulky when it was done. I think if I could find a lighter interfacing I would choose that rather than having the grid printed.
Kris: I'm working on a Super Mario Bros quilt using this technique.
That's probably the same one I was downloading, my son begged for it, but he took the patterns and made some of the blocks with legos, that seemed to get them out of his system, lucky me!

LOL. Super Mario Bros is the only video game I was ever any good at and I really like the quilt. Not sure when/if I'll ever get it done.
Wow Jacy. I loved the sun flower quilt when I thought it was lap size. Now I am even more enchanted with the quilt.
