Most know I'm thinking about buying Viking Topaz or Janome 6600. I have Pfaff 7570 and when I shut it off it loses the stitch set up length , width and I have to reprogram. Do any of you know if the two machine I'm thinking about would be the same way because their computerized Or are you able to lock your settings for the next time you come back to the project? I know its a minor thing but i think thats why I'm always sewing on my mechanical Pfaff. Any knowledge greatly appreciated.

I don't know about either of those, but my Babylock Symphony can be set to remember all of those settings so you can come back to the same thing. I really like the machine, if it had the adt like pfaff does, it would be perfect. Ginny
Thanks. I probably should pm you but thought I'd tell you my discovery when quilting on 7570 I ended up with more ripples then with walk ft. Just my oppinion maybe the new machines are better because of throat space.
I have a Viking Sapphire. I love it, but I think it goes back to the straight stitch when I turn it off. I honestly have never tried to lock it in one stitch position as this is my only machine for now and I do everything with it. Good luck finding what you are looking for.

Is,I pretty sure the Janome has a memory setting on it ,but I've never used it .I know when I shut off the machine it goes back to the default stitch. but I think you can set it up to maintain the stitch you are using with the memory. same thing with the Topaz I have this machine as well.
EAT!! SLEEP !! QUILT!!
I have a Viking Designer Diamond that I love. I can program in my favorite stitches and just select them when I turn the machine back on. For example, I have programmed in the scant 1/4 inch for my quilting piecing. I'm certain the machines you are studying probably allow you to save stitches much the same way.

Thanks for replying! I've been studying machines so much I have piercing headache or sinus thing coming on. Those of you That have embroidery have you used it in your quilting?
Is ,I use mine all the time ,Its great for embellishing your quilts ,or little project you make . If I do anything bigger I use the Topaz as it has the attachment for embroidery, but Ithen have to go back and read the manual as I have forgotten how it works..LOL Barbara
I hear you! I am planning on nbuying a machine within the week. I have researched soo much I too feel as though my head will split. I have narrowed it down to Janome 6600, Elna 760 and Pfaff creative 4.0. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
I have 6600 but haven't used it yet. Good luck with your decision.
Andrea, I owned the 6600 and loved it! I traded up to the 7700 and love it as well. My 6600 went to a good home, my BFF and she loves it! You won't go wrong with a Janome!
I love my Janome 6600!
I have several friends who love their Janome! Hope that helps!
