Did you click on the pdf file before you printed the instructions? The pdf prints at "normal" size.

The only reason that I feel that this quilt has a "modern" flair is the use of 2 colors. The design itself is a traditional block. I didn't see a question from you regarding fabrics. Did you ask here or in groups?
I asked in the discussion forum and others wondered after me
I did find your question. I am so sorry that I missed it the first time. I see no reason that you can't switch the dark and light. It will just give the quilt a slightly different feel. I would love to see one done in reverse.
Helen: Bridget-Carol As I read the cutting instructions the strips are cut 1" X 8 1/2" and others cut into 1" X 8" segments. If I am understanding your question correctly I don't think the segments are to be cut in 1/2" pieces. The strip cutting is pretty quick and hope you change your mind and continue to stick with it!

I think you have me confused with someone else. I answered that question on the groups board since someone thought they were to cut into 1" x 1/2" pieces. It is 8 AND a half inch, not 8 pieces one half inch large. Which if you think about it makes no sense anyway since we use 1/4" seams -- it would leave nothing left. It's not the strip cutting that is an issue for me -- it's the piecing of hundreds, maybe up to a thousand pieces. CAN I do it? Yes. I'm doing that with the last Bonnie Hunter quilt. Do I WANT to do it? No, not at this time.

I was unable to lock this thread as it is linked in the workshop. I do hope that everyone will start doing the majority of their chatting in the group board. It sure does make it easier for me to keep up with everyone.
what are the final dimensions of the quilt?

I'm back from Florida and trying to catch up. I'm in, just need time to get things together. I have a weekend quilt retreat coming up on Friday with my mom. Leaving again Thursday to be there by Friday. LOL. If this is what retirement is like I'm not sure i could keep up. I need to go back to work to rest!!
