.Mystery Quilt #8 - City Streets
Vinton, Virginia
I couldn't find any place on that page to ask questions. What do you click on?
By the way, when I printed the instructions the print was pretty tiny, so I highlighted it and pasted it into a Word document and increased the font size and then reprinted it. It might be an idea for those of us with "older" eyes!!
Thanks Nana for all your hard work on this project. It's my first mystery quilt ever!!

I just looked at the cutting instructions. WOW! I think Nana has been taking lessons from Bonnie Hunter!!! Look at all those tiny triangles and 2-1/2" squares -- 216 of those tiny suckers. And then I found the 2" squares. Yikes!
You GO girl !! you CAN do it .

From the group page, look to the right for "Discussions." From there, click on "Step 1 Questions."
When Nana checks in there, she'll be surprised to see she has 3 pages of questions already!

People, I'm so not ready to start another quilt yet, but he, who really cares? I just pulled an unfinished top of 2010 out of the closet, and plan on finishing that one, so I can start a new one too, right? I'll start cutting after the weekend, hope to have it done in time for the new instructions.

HI everyone,
Now that we have started, Join us on the discussion boards in the Mystery quilt 8- city streets group. under the discussion link. This is where we will be hanging out from now on. Here is a link to get you going in the right direction. discussion boards.
After reading the cutting instructions and seeing what tiny pieces we will be working with, I've decided not to do this mystery at this time. I'll follow along and encourage you all, but I'm just not up to another quilt that uses hundreds, perhaps thousands of tiny pieces. I'm still working on the Bonnie Hunter Easy Street mystery and am determined to finish it since I spent a bundle on the fabrics. I'll save the instructions for this MQ and maybe tackle it later.
I generally enjoy the mystery quilts here, but think I might sit this one out too. I'm not a big fan of Modern quilts and even though I haven't read through the cutting directions the rabid panic scares me. Plus I refuse to buy more fabric and in my stash I have the oppisite - more dark yardage than the light and no one has answered me if there would be a difference, so...

Bridget-Carol As I read the cutting instructions the strips are cut 1" X 8 1/2" and others cut into 1" X 8" segments. If I am understanding your question correctly I don't think the segments are to be cut in 1/2" pieces. The strip cutting is pretty quick and hope you change your mind and continue to stick with it!
