Ginny:

Dara Beth,  I bought that pattern a couple of years ago and decided my head wasn't in the right place to make it yet.  I cruised the directions and they confused me at the time..    Ginny

I read and re-read the instructions about 12 times before I started.  I think the most confusing part of the process was marking the size of the triangles for cutting.  I put tape on my ruler to mark the measurements & left them there for the next time I used the pattern.  I gave my daughter that triangle ruler along with the pattern so she wouldn't have that problem.  Maybe now is the time to get it back out and have another go at it. :-)  If I can do it, anyone can. LOL

KATHRYNB-3:

Dara,

I love the quilt with the houses on it, is that a cross stitch quilt? It is something I would love to do.

Kathryn

Hi Kathryn.  Welcome to the group! I'm sure you will enjoy your time here.

The patterns are cross-stitch and are from the Victorian Village Afghan Series.  They are quaint shops and stores. The patterns were published, 2 at a time, in The Cross Stitcher.  They began in the December 1993 issue and finished up in the October 1994 issue.  Lois Winston designed the shops to use all  180 colors of DMC flower thread.  I converted the colors to regular DMC floss and we were happy with the results.

I missed the last mystery quilt because every time I tried to download the directions I got a virus warning so I have the 5 and 6 Mystery quilt tops done and will try and post pictures of them.  I have to admit to tweaking things a bit, just me.  Any way I hope to be able to participate in this Mystery and will be trying to get fabrics together for it.

The group will be opened about March 1.   The Mystery Quilt Workshop...which will have all the instructions....will open on March 15.   You will be able to find the workshop on the left hand side of your homepage.   This quilt is using just 2 colors with stark contrast.   Something that reads as solid.

I have just joined but I would soooo love to play as I enjoy mystery quilts.  I do have a  question..

Can you tell me about the size of the quilt?   I live in a trailer and my sewing space is VERY LIMITED.. ( not that I will stop quilting) so I would appreciate knowing the size to know if this is something I can tackle right now.

Thanks

Rebecca B
