 Regular outdoor ants

Is, can you describe them?  Size, color, etc.  And in what part of the states do you live?  My DH is an entomologist, and he might have some ideas.

The world is full of great discoveries. Sprout made 2 today. The first was Kool-aid. I don't generally keep 'junk' drinks on hand but today I found some in the cupbaoard and mixed it up for the kids. Sprout thinks all that added sugar is grand.

The second was his b-day present. His birthday isn't til Wed, and I had his gift stashed in the garage to keep it out of sight until then. Well, today I needed something and left the door open while I was getting it. Sprout toddled in after me and his little face lit up when he saw that big green ball. I just couldn't tell him no, he had to wait 2 more days to play with it. He's chased it all over the yard, grinning the whole time.

If the R poison doesn't work I'm calling exterminator I'm at wits end.

Is, when we had pets and little kids I always used ground cloves to repel the ants that used to come inside.  I would just sprinkle it wherever I found a line of ants trying to invade my kitchen. You can also get clove oil and saturate a cotton ball with it. Works the same way.  Not only do they hate it but it gives your kitchen a nice spicy smell.  Good luck with you battle plan.

Oh, Is, I should add these were sugar ants....the little bitty ones.  Not the large carpenter ants which always creep me out.

Are sugar ants the same as crazy ants? You know the tiny ants that can't walk straight. My BIL got those in there house. They did battle forever and finally had to call an exterminator to find where they were coming from and get rid of them.

Debbie,  Welcome to Zoe. She is a looker.

CC, I am stunned that Sprout is already a year old. The  older I get, the faster time goes by. Gives us a look at this big boy again.  And give him a happy birthday zerbert for me, right on that sweet  tummy!

Wow, CC!  Time sure flies when your having fun!  I can't believe a year has passed.  Give Sprout a big hug for me on his birthday and tell him grandma Marie wishes him a HAPPY BIRTHDAY and a year full of adventure.  Tell his mommy "watch out, here he comes so brace yourself!"  Wish I could be there to see his happy smiling face.  Send me a piece of his cake, will ya?

Been out making push-pins on the torch today. Gini gave me the idea for making tangle feet on them. Thanks Gini!

Apple sauce. I think he gets most of his nutrition through osmosis.
