It looks like Illinois is getting hit hard with the flooding situation, too.  Goodness, the states down south haven't even seen the snow melt we're going to be sending their way soon.  Pickles is looking with amazement at the scene outside our front window on April 19.  Schools are all closed or running late.  It might seem like this would be a good sewing day, but the snow clean-up will take us half a day and then I have other obligations in town.  Grrrrr, why is it so hard to say NO.

That is a sheltered section of rail.  There's 10-12 inches of new snow on the ground.  The humor columnist in the paper wrote this morning, "It’s snowing in late April in amounts normally associated with Rudolph songs, which makes the sun-starved good folk of Minnesota realize that our yearly ration of green will feel so short this year that we’ll react to autumn like a cat being put into a toilet."

Elaine,  I don't think it will work to send Nana our MQ#8 quilt pieces....lol  Wish I could.  I'll just keep plugging along.  Still sewing,  measuring, frogging, sewing again, measuring again....hehehe  I'm going to get this done if it kills me...

Sorry to hear of all your white stuff up north and the rain and nasty weather in the Midwest.  We're getting rained on right now and windy.  Hope you all get spring really soon and avoid floods.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes for DH's surgery next week.  We just take one day at a time.

Leslie that is so sad. We have tons of rain coming down. 100% chance all day. So, we are inside.

I have errands to run. Need new clothes for the warm months. nothing fits anymore. YAY! I am two sizes smaller than last spring. Also, want to stop at the LQS. ;D Need some groceries and to return a library book. Great book. If you have never read the Miss Julia series by Ann B. Roos, and you need chuckles. Read Miss Julia. She gets in more funny situations. Gives you a light heart.

Quilted Hugs From Maddie has 50 quilts to donate to the children of Adairsville, Ga. Praise God. Nan's LQS took donated fabric and they ladies in her GUild, and other customers made quilts for this cause.  Nan received a box of MORE fabric. Though all the fabric has been so helpful in the making of these quilts, a charity requires donations of money to help defer costs. No one has donated any money so far. It is coming from Nan. She does not have a money tree in the backyard. This isa Not-For--Profit Charity. Donations are tax deductible.

I will see if Jim will go with me, as my errands must get done. Then home to the machine to work on this quilt.

I am about to leave on an epic walk with one of the neighbors  where I will attempt to take great photos of the mountains.  it is overcast and if we get MORE snow I will be greatly displeased. It was so sunny yeasteday and I should have gon then but needed a little nap and then got caught up in errands.  I guess one should take walks while the sun shines.

Nancy, love the pic, it's nice to know that someone still has a sense of humor about all this snow!

Nana

praying for you and DH.   I fell for him as my ticker and vessels are doing "stupid" thing inside my body.  NOT FUN, however I leave it up to the Lord and the awesome Dr.'s he has given me.
