Spending a few days up at University of Michigan Mott's Children's Hospital with my one year old granddaughter who is in need of a kidney transplant, but must have some other health issues resolved before she can be placed on the transplant list...Love my grandma time no matter where we are :) !
It's a tough time. I am a dialysis social worker, and so am familiar with what she and her family are going through. Hope she gets a transplant soon. I'll be praying.
Thank you Patti, is is a challenging road to be sure, we are on dialysis (PD) 16 hours a day...but I wouldn't change a thing...we are blessed our baby girl is growing and for the most part thriving, however parathyroid is out of control, and now severe bone disease...must get them under control to get to transplant...Every prayer for Camille is appreciated :) !
Wishing you the best of luck on transplant for GD. Any chance your from Mi. I have relative big time into soccer with same last name.

So sorry that your granddaughter is going thru this. Thoughts and prayers coming your way.
Beth this is hard to hear, and I bet, for you and her parents, equally hard to watch. God has got this. All things work to his good. I will put her on my prayer list. Does she require a child's kidney? Is she on the National transplant list, or is there one for kids? Praying........
well, made another hat. this one came out better, and easier. but stepped outside with it and quickly realized in the breeze that I need some way to keep it on my head. I think I have figured out how to do that and still keep it reversible. Pics later after the camera batteries recharge.
Now to make those muffins for church tomorrow.
No we are from Northwest Ohio, Oak Harbor to be exact, we are about 30 miles west of Cedar Point :). I'm pretty sure my husband's cousins and family are in the Toledo area.
Thank you so much!
They do not use children's kidneys in transplant, because one they are donated, they never grow again, and wouldn't be able to keep up with growth of the receiptant, so they must wait until babies are 12 months, 10 kilos (22 pounds), have all of their live immunizations for life, and are healthy. Camille was to be put on the transplant list on April 2nd, but with the parathyroid issues she is now facing, it has been delayed...very sad, but we want what is what's best for her, and I too believe God has a plan, and it is his time not ours that must be followed...Faith and Trust are first and foremost...also praying every day!!!! :)
I've been sewing today and also went to see FIL. I hate going in the place as unpleasant odor hits you immediately. I am glad to say however that they have him sitting in a recliner chair! He was actually talking today! Then DH and I did some window shopping for replacement car for me. Since DH just got a new car I need to down size my car payment.
beth, praying for your GD, So young to be going thru so much. God's blessings.
Happy Easter everyone. A little rainy today but at least its not snow. SIL is cooking dinner today. I'm just trying to stay awake for it.I've got the tired bug today.
Beth, I love that you have your trust firmly placed in God's will. For there we find our strength. He is the great healer. I believe, as some say that if He is a healer, why do people die. It is becuase, sometimes, He sees that they are needed with Him and that is the greatest healing. We pray for earth's healing, and so many times that is what is granted. But, HE makes the ultimite decision. I pray for the best outcome for your grandchild. I read about another of our Beth's yesterday, a new member who has a grandchild born with no kidneys. I have a friend, who's one year old spent the first three months of his life in Neonatal ICU.. Heart surgery 15 mins. after his birth. He is a thriving one year old, you would never know of his shaky start to life. Children are resilent. God loves these little ones so much.
Happy Easter to you and yours.
Happy Easter to every one. It's a beautiful spring day here in Idaho.
