Pearl,

I love your bunny bread, its great.

For those who want spring, yep me too, we dont normally expect snow in March however over the weekend we had a bit of snow where i live its fine its still cold so its not melting very quick, but there are thousands of homes round the country who have lost power. Blizzard conditions caught some car drivers by surprise.

the little bits you can see are the roofs of the cars which have been stuck in the snow drift.

lots of love

Diana:

Karla,    At least Sonny will go with you.  My DH is a hermit.  He just can't deal with being around people.  That PTSD can really be a problem but it's his way of coping.    But at least he doesn't stop me from going to these retreats.  That's a good thing.

Diana in East Tn.

PTSD is a terrible thing.  Before he went to Nam he was very outgoing, now he's more of a recluse.  If I badger him enough, I can get him out.  He finally joined the American Legion here in town and that has helped him because he can exchange stories with the guys who were in Nam, too, and he doesn't feel self-conscious.  Other than one of our neighbors (you guessed it another Nam vet), he would rather just be around our kids and grand kids.  But after almost 47 years of marriage, I'm not going to give up yet.  I go shopping and to the casinos by myself when I need to get out and away from him, he complains, but not too much.  And he actually doesn't complain about the money I spend on my quilting (at least not since he went to Branson and realized that I don't have half the things the other quilters had).  That made the trip really good for me, now I can spend, spend, spend on my hobby.  He's happy because it keeps me at home.

Karla, I wonder if the guys brought up their service experiences in Branson?  Randy was over there, too!  Well, actually he was up on a mountain top servicing the air guidance systems, so it was probably a much different experience from those at ground level.

Diana:
TV showed even Branson was getting a bunch of the white stuff.  I'm glad they held off and got it after our retreat.

We've been watching the weather in Branson, too.  I don't think the spring breakers are going to enjoy riding roller coasters in that weather!

We've gone a whole week now without snow, but we're still snow-shoeing during our dog walks because the 20+ inches on the ground is not melting very quickly.  They say a slow spring warm-up will help lower flooding risk, so I guess we'll have to be patient.

I have to make return of bedspread i ordered online.  The color just wasn't the same after receiving.  Might stop by fabric store for another creative cover in circle I think it will make it easier to draw yin yang for quilting.

nancy, the hotel just had 400 high school musicians last week end, making snow angels in the parking lot, in the snow, in their bikinis and swim trunks.  i don't think a little snow at the amusement park slowed them down.

Check out a granny that embraces winter on the Canadian prairies. She lives in the city just two hours west of my home. They almost always have more snow than we do.

BRrr! I gotta ask...Just when did being in your 50's make you a "Senior."  Dang! I'm older then I thought!

I just have to tell everyone in their 50s. A 30s something girl I work with was talking about  those old people in their 50s, when I spoke up and said "excuse me" She replied Oh, Susan, I thought you were 40. It made my day!!!       Susan

Well, I've been touched too.  My bank called me to ask if I had just ordered almost $1100 dollars on best buy online and music at the Atheneum Hotel.  Of course I said NO!!   So they cancelled that card ad are issuing me a new one to be delivered by UPS tomorrow.    The only problem was that I had gone online last night and ordered some fabric from Hinckley Road quilt shop.   They didn't offer paypal though.  Don't know ifit is a coincidence or what, but , at least , I used the card that has the smallest amount of credit available on it.      Ginny

Ginny, do you have Lifelock?? We have talked about it. It is kinda high though. But, if it saves you all the money they could get their grubby hands on, it's worth it.

I saw on TV last night that there is an app you can get on your IPhone that will track it. So, if stolen, the cops can just go get it ,from the bad guy.

So sorry this happened.

Been there and done that, Ginny.  It isn't fun.  Mine was caught and corrected right away.  Haven't found the culprit, but did find out what site it happened on.  It was Fabric Depot.  They sent me a letter and offered a lot of free gifts to make up for the trouble.

As to what I have been up to today, I mowed the lawn while DH used the string trimmer.  I pulled the weeds (not all of them by any means) from the rocks in the front, tested the sprinkler system and finished the laundry.  It is now lunch time here in Nevada, so after lunch I may get in some sewing.  Now to decide which project I should work on since I finally got all the pieces cut for the MQ8.

Ginny,

Since the bank figured it out, you will likely only be out $50.00 at most.  Most credit cards work that way these days.  The internet is a wonderful world to be in almost all the time. Then there are these little glitches.

So today I got up early to take my daughter to work.  We are a family of 4 drivers with 3 cars, or so we thought.  Mine has been down and being worked on for a couple of weeks.  Just the exhaust, but DH got pulled over so we parked her until he could get it together.  Then it snowed for the next 3 weekends.  We started her every few days with no problem.  Then this morning, no indication she wanted to run at all.  The AAA is in DH's name. The other daughter has a car with one of those plastic covers over the positive terminal and we couldn't get a good connection.  So the girls worked out transportation for the day.

So since I was up early I decided to get some things going.  First I did one of the easy tube pillow cases.  Inside out.  No big deal just take it apart and go on.  So I went on to the next one that worked famously.  I did a 3rd without the decorative band.  Quick and easy.  Just a little glitch there.

The machine overheated and when I turned it on I didn't look at the needle position.  With my quarter inch foot, it has to be in the middle.  Broke a needle.

Nothing serious, but kind of annoying kind of day.  Now I am on a roll, at least it seems that way.  Going to crank out the valentine's day pillow cases for the GD"s. I am doing them each 1 per month for Christmas.  I decided to pull out a notebook.  When I do something that is specifically for someone I am going to put what it is in there. As well as what it is wrapped in, and wrap it for the holiday.  Then the snoops won't accidentally stumble across them.  I have a big box in the attic that I am going to put them all in.  I want to have all the hand made's done by the time I send out the SS gift.  That will be on time.  The others, well it is only March.

On to finishing a few things that are cluttering up my space and make the fabric into something beautiful.  Unless it continues to be an annoying afternoon.

Pictures of today's adventures so far are on my page.

Jan in Rochester.
