Dh and I put 150+ miles on the limo today so I could treat him to lunch and he could buy me flowers ...LOL  I now have a bouquet of pretty daffodils (Gee..I wonder what made me pick them???) and even a box of chocolate. I feel so pampered.

Marie:

Well, I've had a busy day frogging, adding another border to make the baby's quilt 10" bigger on all sides, and making the sandwich so it's ready for quilting.  HELP!  How would you quilt it?

It's a beautiful quilt!  I'd stitch n ditch the pinwheels, simple lines across the Christmas lights and echo quilt around the Snoopy characters.  I love this quilt!

Happy Birthday Patti!  Hope it was fantastic and you got to sew tons!

I went to see my family w/my Mom.  It was fun!  I love seeing my Aunts, Uncles and cousins.  We are a close family.  Even though I don't get to see them often, it is wonderful when we do!

Tomorrow I plan on moving some of my sewing room around.  Just to see if it works better for me.  I have a nice big cutting table, and it is up against a wall and I am thinking of moving it to the middle of the room, and put my sewing table up against the wall.  Then I really need to tidy up.

Whew... I've been gone from the forum for 2 months!   Life is returning to normal, thankfully.  I won't bore you with the details, but I had emergency surgery 2 days before Christmas, my 11 year old son went into the hospital, family fell apart practically and my sanity flew out the window!  LOL  The only thing that kept me going was my long arm.  It gave me some great solitude to put myself back together.

This week was the first week since before Christmas that I felt like myself again.  I have to get braces next month.  ME?  Get braces?  I'm 52 for cryin' out loud!  LOL  I found out I cracked my jaw 5 years ago and didn't know it.  I had a brain injury back then, and my jaw cracked at the same time but we didn't realize it.  Found out before Christmas when an infection reared it's ugly head.

Anyway, I missed y'all!  I've read back through the posts and feel like "I know y'all" again.

MaxNTopeka:

Angele,

Here is pic of my Naked Ladies ( sometimes called Surprise Lilies) from last year.  The leaves come up in the spring, then die back. Later in the year, late August around here, the bloom stalk shoots up and blooms.  Ours are about 20 inches tall when they bloom. The only color I've seen them in is the pale pink.

Max

BEAUTIFUL!  Simply beautiful!  I must buy some of these.

Linda,

Thanks for thinking of me and Maddie. We would prefer if you use the fabric and make quilts. Lap size for ages 5 - 12 so we prefer 48x60 or so. We have an ongoing need so whatever you can make whenever you can make it is fine.

You can go on her pages by using her name "Quilted Hugs from Maddie". Or email same name at yahoo.

Her current quilt drive is for children of Adairsville, GA. Tornado wiped out their town. We are working with United Way and March 6 th will be the donation date....but we will also donate even one quilt at a time, when needed.  Plus we collect quilts for future drives.

thanks again,

Maddie and Nan

Happy birthday Patti!!

Last Night SIL ruffled my feathers again she was telling me that I told hospital to set FIL leg.  I told her I didn't but I think shes for some odd reason just blaming me for alot because she is feeling so overwhelmed by everything that has been happening and taking it out on me.  Thus I went did some old fashioned shopping therapy at Joanns.  I splurged got a bunch of solids because they were on sale for weekend and I took advantage of their BOGO offer on ott .  Yippe I finally replaced my lamp that DH broke.  I'll be going back to hospital toomorrow.

Thanks Kris, it not only made it bigger but it brightened it up as well.  FYI, I planned on both the quilts being finished for Christmas last year so DGS, knows the baby is getting a Christmas quilt for his birth but he doesn't know he'll be getting one as well.
