Today, I have to work 6 hours.   The earlier I go into work, the sooner I get home.   Then, since it is my birthday, I will get to sew on anything I want.  DH has found a Jamaican recipe for dinner.  Lots of different ingredients.  I wonder what the plantains and rum are for.  Coconut milk,  peppers, shrimp, but no okra.  I couldn't find any.  I may have to take a picture and post in "what's for dinner."

Interesting that even near the Cascade Mountains of Washington, spring comes sooner than in Minnesota.  If April looks and feels like spring here, we feel fortunate.  Trees won't leaf out until May, and I don't dare plant annuals until Memorial Day.

Sounds a lot like Maine Nancy.

This is just a teaser for us...LOL!  Yes, we have had warm day-time temps off and on for the last 2 weeks...enough to melt a lot of the snow, but winter is not over here yet!  We will be having hard freezes well into May.  Our first possibility of planting (outside a greenhouse or cold-frame) is around Memorial Day.

Well I took the afternoon off from work and am getting ready to go visit my DD, DSIL, and those precious DGC, Ariana and Gabriel who live in mid Georgia near Warner Robbins. This makes TGIF day even better for me. I sure wish we were closer to them but at least its only 31/2 hours away and not across the country. Hope everyone has a good weekend.               Susan

Happy birthday, Patti. Have a day full of great surprises.

Having a Pastoral visit this aft. Just our turn, I guess. I told him to bring the Mrs, if he liked. I love both of them. Such really nice people and both are so funny.

Did some machine applique, on my latest quiltie, this a.m. So proud of myself. I see where I need more practice. But, for the most part, it isn't half bad. Jim said he is so proud of me. I have had that macine for years and only ever did a straight stitch. Amazing what you can do if your just try. it is so much fun.

Gotta go. there are kittie paw prints, and doggie snot on the front storm door. Think now is a great time to clean that.

Nan,

I've been offered some free fabric and I immediately thought of you and Maddie. I'm not sure when or how I'm getting all this fabric or what kind of shape it's in. But in a couple months I should have some time to make some quilts for you if you still need someone to make quilts. Please give me some guidelines of what you want. Or would you prefer that I ship the fabric to you.

Linda
