Elizabeth, beautiful quilt
Elizabeth, that is a beautiful quilt.
Did not work on a quilt today, but am getting ready to get back to hand quilting on DGS's quilt.
Quilted a large wallie today, but when I took it off the frame, noticed that the machine tension was off for about the last 9 inches or so, so now I am frogging. But if I get it frogged and re-quilted, that will be one UFO off of my list.
Yea, Karla, I hurried to finish a quilt so it could go on the spare bed for when my sisters arrived. It wasn't until I took it off the frame and had the binding all but done that I noticed the tension was out to lunch on the last section. However, as none of them quilt I elected not to share that and will be frogging shortly. To bad it was a completed UFO.
For those of you who missed me, thanks. I may not be back often, but I'll try.
Hi Vivian, good to see you, hope you are doing well
Karla, sorry you are having to ribbit ribbit
Still working on my kestrel wall hanging. I am trying to design it myself, and I don't want to just steal someone else's drawing of a kestrel and copy it. What is in my head is having a lot of difficulty transferring to paper. But you know what? It seems lots of people steal the drawings of others and don't even mention where it came from.
I will go back to my last revision of my hat this weekend. I have to make some progress somewhere!
Wow, Elizabeth, that quilt is striking! Let's hear it for solids!
On the banks of the Mississippi River in north central Minnesota (Brainerd lakes area)
You might try googling copyright free kestrel to access images that might help. I believe there's also a birds of prey coloring book that's copyright free. Am looking forward to seeing what you come up with. I have a friend who had two different kestrels as "ed birds" (education birds) on Federal permit. I've done cross stitch of kestrels for her, but not any quilt projects. Good luck.
Karla:Here is a picture of the Log Cabin Quilt
Great log cabin quilt.
Elizabeth and Joe both are great quilts.
Did my frogging and re-quilted the bad section, so maybe I'll get the binding done and that will be one UFO finished.
Just downloaded the instructions for Step[ 5 of MQ8 and hope to get it at least started tomorrow. Tomorrow I have to take the oldest GS to meet up with his Boy Scout Troop as they are going on a 4 hour hike, spending the night and then hiking 4 hours back the next morning. The grandkids have plans for me over the weekend...they are participating in a TaeKwonDo demo and of course Grandma and Grandpa have to attend. Hope oldest DH makes it back in time for the demo cuz' he's playing a big part in it.
I just finished Quilt #2 (Retreat Words) for my AZ retreat center project....2 down, 10 to go. Quilt #3 is on the machine now and it's almost done. I'm on a roll. I'm just sewing the binding to my Grandson Quinn's dinosaur quilt. His birthday is just 3 weeks away. Last night I cut out a pair of jammies for him too.
I found a local source to give my charity quilts to. I just don't have the money to send them out since I just have my disability income now. So I've formed the Ohio Chapter of Reap What You Sew. The quilts will be going to Rainbow Childrens and Akron Chilcrens Hospitals. I am so excited. We will be affliated with our church and Pastor will announce it this Sunday and it will go in the next newsletter. I am so very excited. I sent a message back to RWYS in Phoenix and they are very encouraging.
Gorgeous quilt. I love the quilting.
