Michelle:

Finished up the Happy Puppy Quilt yesterday

Oh, those puppies truly will make someone happy!  Who is the recipient of this cute quilt?

NMnancy,  No one so far to receive this one.  I just wanted to make this particular pattern as I haven't done any Strip piecing like this before and trying to perfect my matching of corners. Those exact seams really make a difference when matching so many small pieces. It's not perfect but I'm sure whoever I give it to, will not be looking for perfection!

Question. I have never used the spray baste before. Well, I got it all spray basted and it sure stank. Hope that goes away!! How long do I have to get the quilting done before it goes away  and the layers come apart? We did this out on the driveway, and, even outside, I could not breathe. It worked well but next time I will wear a mask.

Our DS comes home tomorrow. DH said, if the tires stick to the driveway and we can't go to the airport, he WILL kill me!!

sukochi, the fabric sticks for a long time and you can also pick it up and reposition it. So tell your hubby not to worry he can alway reposition the tires! Surprisingly, with my asthma the spray isn't bothering me as much as I thought it would. I only tried it because I'm getting desperate with 12 quilts that I'm trying to get out. I'm loving it. I've done 6 quilts so far using it and not one wrinkle or pucker.

I already posted the 2 charity quilts and 1 quilt for the AZ retreat center. Yesterday I just finished my Christmas quilt. In a couple days I should have another  for the AZ retreat center done...I just finished quilting it today.

Let me know if the tires stick to the driveway!!!

Hugs

Back to the drawing board.  I tried a different hat.  Stiffer brim and the hexagon type top.   Too big, too stiff and I am glad I haven't used my favorite fabric yet.   It's wide brim all the way around the hat.  It needs some really large gaudy flowers then a clown might consider using it with her costume.  Maybe I'll save it for next year's white elephant gift.  That would get a lot of laughs.

Think I will go back to some more conventional hats.  I have improved the other pattern some but it needs just a little more tweaking.

I have not yet worked on a quilt. My sister came to visit today and we spent time figuring out how to enlarge a quilt pattern for her granddaughter and figuring yardage. She spent the whole day with me. It was so much fun. I love my sister.

I've tried three brands of spray basting, and I find 505 to be the best adhering, the least stinky, and the least overspray.

I have a tutorial about using spray adhesives on my blog if you'd like to see it.  It describes 505 spray, KK2000 and a cleaning spray that takes adhesive off of anything that accidently gets overspray on it.

I finished a Moda candy table topper yesterday. This is the one that had 2-1/2" pinwheel blocks.  It turned out well, and it wasn't that hard to make the pinwheel blocks.  I think I'll make a couple more, they're the perfect size to place on top of my  Singer sewing machines.  This one is my 15-91.  I also have a 201 which lives in the family room and is in an identical table.

Christine, nice table topper.  My mother's old white is in a cabinet just like that.
