Well amidst my yard work and helping DD1 fix her broken sprinkler pipe, I did manage to get the piano key border sewn on to one of the quilts that I began in Branson.  Maybe tomorrow I'll get the final two borders on it.

Probably a silly question Karla but what is a piano key border?

Kris, wonderful mini.  Just in time for Easter.

Jenia, looking forward to seeing your rainbow quilt completed.  It's beautiful already.

Jacy, nice organizer.

Donna, it's fabulous!  Such a rich, elegant quilt.  You got that top done very quickly.

Carol.  Beautiful.  The pattern, the borders, your fabric choices.  Very nice. Love the quilting too.  Is that hand quilting?  The butterflies are so pretty.

Renee:

Donna,

The quilt is fabulous, your daughter and her husband are going to love it because you put all your love into it.

Remember the words of Scott Adams.

“Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.”

This is a Keeper

i second this.

Well if you use your imagination, the borders look like a row of piano keys (without the flats/sharps).  This is what it looks like:

That is what I was picturing in my mind but wasn't sure or if it was sort of special technique.

Thanks, Ginny.  It still needs 2 more borders, if I'm lucky I'll get them on today, then I'll take a picture of the whole quilt top.  I had trouble with lining up the sashing on the diamonds...but it'll do, I guess.  I'm not taking it apart because it's for me and I don't need perfection.  It was a learning experience, maybe I'll try another one and see if I can get the diamond sashing a little straighter.

Karla your quilt looks really delicious in those colors!

Sukochi I like the dog related fabrics you are using; that should make a really fun quilt :-)
