well, I'm at work today but yesterday I had the older two of my youngest grandsons with me and they wanted to make Mama a quilt for Mother's Day. I let them pick out the flannel, got a purple and a green, both are marbled, and the batting for the middle. Reily, who's almost 11 loves to do just about anything artsy - I call him a Renaissance Man, he likes to cook, draw, paint, read, sew, and plays sports - he'll be a real good catch someday (and yes, Grandma is biased and bragging!)
I did all the cutting (and putting the table up on bed risers really saved my back) and he did the stacking - put a purple, batting and then a green - then he wanted to sew the pieces so we got two rows all done. So excited to be introducing a young person to the fun of quilting.

Michelle:Nana and Roxana, what is the best place to get this pattern? I love it.
The below link is the only place I know of:
Hope that helps. I even modified it for my husband's iPad! All in Arkansas Razorback colors and fabrics!
Today I finished up cutting the pieces for MQ8 then finished my new shopping purse that I started last Friday and took a break for some wacky virus that wanted to take up residence. I saw this purse in the gallery and I can't remember who made it (them) . I hunted down the pattern and will be taking her out for a test drive to buy fabric in just a few! I can double up the strap and wear it over my shoulder or leave it long and wear it across my chest!

I got side- tracked looking at baby Aden. Im still working on the quilt for my DSis . Its been slow going and very frustrating to sew. Thirty 121/2" blocks and fifteen had to be remade, which meant more fabric and cutting, piecing etc. I am tired of looking at browns and beige,s. Will e glad when its finally done. Im running out of time as it is suppose to be done for her Birthday in April and with having it quilted at the longarmer Im not sure it will be. I will use a different pattern next time as the neutrals did not look so good in the Courthouse steps twist pattern. It was a learning experience for me, one I will not forget. I did one for my DS in black/white/red that turned out beautiful. I hope this one will be too. Susan
Ginny Aden is gorgeous xx
Ginny, he is such a perfect little fellow.
Debbie, I like your bag.
Well I am half way though quilting MQ2. (how many years ago was that?). Had to stop and bake a pie for tonight, and to check in on my quilting buddies.
What a beautiful baby! Aren't grandchildren wonderful?
No, I haven't worked on a quilt today, but I did finally make it to the LQS and $150 later I have the fabric to back my wall hanging (that I made in Branson), and fabric to border (and applique) my Birthday Block Quilt, and fabric to finish making my embroidered flower squares, and border fabric for MQ8 which I haven't even cut out yet, and naturally fabric that I didn't need for anything, but know I will be able to put it to good use. A successful day!
Now, maybe I'll work on one of the projects...
Lesley, I love your quilt, beautiful colors and awesome quilting!
