Very nice quilt Mary.  As for the binding I roll it on itself and either lay it in my lap or on the floor and it unrolls as I sew.

Roxana, I love the fabric you chose for your cute travel case. Could you tell us how wide and how tall it is?

I roll my binding around my hand, then put the roll under the right leg of my Sew Steady table and it feeds very nicely as I sew. After years of fighting with binding I had this aha moment not long ago.

Thank you. The folded caws (closed) is 10" tall and a little over 7" wide. Did you see the link for the pattern?

Should be "case" not "caws." I'm really having a hard time with auto-correct!

I did pin nephews backside of quilt tonight.  Maybe no more than likely I will start sewing on it tomorrow.

Roxana

Love your travel case.  I have that same pattern and made these for all the ladies at the Virginia Beach retreat last year.   They are so handy when traveling.  And really easy to make.

Mary789:
I am really curious as to what  you all do with the long length of binding, as you all always have very good ideas?

I just roll mine up and set it on an upright spool pin on my machine.

Mary789:
I did want to share this humor.  When I was joining the binding strips for this quilt, I was joining ends to ends and then I realized at the end that I had joined all ends and had a complete circle or ring of binding.  I had a good laugh :-)

That's funny. I haven't done that yet.

Roxana:
I didn't work on a quilt yesterday but did create a Travel Case at a Sit 'n Sew with my Quilter's Guild. The case can be used for sewing utensils or writing utensils. It will even hold my iPad mini! Anyway, I thought I would share it with you.

I love the fabrics you've used. I have one of these that I use to tote my hand work to work. I've also used it as a temporary case for my Nook.

I LOVE the travel case Nana made for us last year!!!  Use it all the time, even when not traveling.  Need my Purple Thang?  I know just where to look.  Where's my seam gauge?  In the case!  ...and so on...

I'm thinking of making another one for my iPad Mini so that I can change up my pockets for my power cord, stylus, and earplugs. My husband wants one for his regular iPad so I'll have to increase the size a bit and make sure he has a pocket for his reading glasses.

Thanks so much for all the compliments on my sewing tote! I love the fabrics too!
