Max -- you have been busy.  I love the multi-coloured star quilt.  Did you use marbles blenders?  I couldn't quite tell.  Anyway, really classy.

Debbie - I like the soft colours in your patch and the arrangement of triangles.  Hadn't seen that pattern before.

I haven't done any sewing the past few days.  It's kind of silly, but without Elgar-dog here, I find I'm sort of walking around in a bit of a fog, and every time I pick something up to work on it seems so difficult, even easy patterns.  Also, when I sewed he always laid right at my side as an encouraging presence.  I buried him two weeks ago today so I know this sadness will pass, but right now I'm rather immobilized.  But I am enjoying seeing what everyone else is working on, and I know I'll be back to sewing soon.

Brigit-Carol,

The fabric for the star quilt is all from a Robert Kaufman line called "Fresco".  These colors were from the dark colorway. I found the pattern in a tutorial on Missouri Star Quilt Company. Search their site for 'Jelly Roll Star'.  It's a VERY easy pattern.  Each star is one strip from a jelly roll, one strip equals one star.  And best of all, for me at least, NO HSTs!

I understand how much you miss your pal.  TIme helps.   (((hugs)))

Brigit-Carol, I understand that sadness you are feeling. It's very hard to have that companion and then lose him. We are thinking of you. Let yourself grieve. That part is healthy.

Brigit-Carol, is that a picture of your dog on you avatar?  He looks so sweet. It's hard to lose such a close companion.  Thinking of you.

Here is my completed baby quilt, for a co-worker.  Everything used was from my stash.  I am pleased with how the back fabric was such a good match.

Oh my, I love that butterfly quilt.  Is the butterfly paper pieced?  I really do need to learn that method.  I haven't finished last year's Craftsy's BOM and the last two blocks are paper pieced.  I really need to just make myself sit down and do it.

Yes, my avatar is a pic Elgar when he was about 3 years old.  I just love the happy expression on his face.  He was an incredible dog -- smart, intuitive and not a stubborn bone in his body.  We were together for 16 years.
