Can you use 12 fat quarters to make a Bargello Heart Quilt?

I think only if it is a very small quilt or very simple.  Do you have a pattern?  If you have to sew a lot of strips together it would be easier if you could do long strips instead of short fat quarters. 

Go to the bargello group to see some examples of heart quilts.
