My foot pedal would "walk" so my foot couldn't reach it any more while I was sewing, so I took a piece of the rubber drawer liner which was bigger and set my pedal on it.  Now my pedal stays where it belongs and I am not reaching anymore.  Thanks to all for their great suggestions.

I'll have to try that, my foot pedal does that too.

If your sewing room is carpeted like mine, you can use a piece of the "hook" part of a sticky backed velcro to keep it locked into place. :)

Great idea.  I bought a rubber pad for my pedal, but over the years, it has become slippery and isn't doing the job anymore.  I have some leftover carpet padding - the mesh, rubber kind which I am going to try.  Thanks.

I used the drawer liner for a while but found on my cement floor it just didnt stay in place. So when  Annies had a pedal-mat on sale around $5 I bought one and it works GREAT.      Susan

For now I'm gonna try the drawer liner, because my pedal has been walking on my wood floor.
