How do you keep one way design going in the same direction when cutting diagonaly from square.  After cutting from one square and making the bottom of that hst now the middle line the hst on top has the print going east to west the bottom hst has direction of print going north to south.  How do i keep the print going north to south on both pieces?  Any replies appreciated.

The only way I know to keep the design going the same way with HSTs is to make more then I need - I will usually make mirror projects and use just the top half in one block and the bottom in another.  I do not know of anyway to cut the square to keep them all for the same block... Just put the piece you don't use aside for another project.

I know that our sales tax doesn't have any harmony.

I now know I have been away too  long. I was reading and things went to taxed for singing in Canada....."Harmonized Sales Tax". I guess that would be ok since I don't sing and they are not taxing me on my fabric or critters.

I'm a material girl....Want to see my fabric collection?

You ladies are too funny. We are not taxed for singing but probably for lessons. We used to have federal tax on some things ,provincial on others and sometimes both but now they are working in HARMONY to tax us on just about everything 13%.We are taxed on our fabric our lessons .

We can be taxed for materials, but not for the labor.
