Hi Shelley,

I've run into the same issue with my machine regarding timing and the closest dealer is 3 hours away. Can you tell me where you found the tool needed for the timing?  My husband is extremely mechanical and I know he could do this.

Thanks,

Tina

Tina, the tool to time the Avante is a 2mm (hexie?)- I went to Sears and found a neat little screwdriver with the switchable heads in the tiny sizes- cost me about $5. I have since been told it's a standard head that is used for a lot of things, just like a Phillips head or a flat screwdriver- easy to find at places that sell screwdrivers. Also, if you call HQ, and tell them your distance to get your machine to get it timed, they can talk you through it over the phone.

Shelley

Thanks for the info. I really like what you said about not going overboard with accessories at first, an that was a good tip about the Handihandles.  Lots to consider, and I have just begun my research, but I know someone with a HQ 16 so am leaning that way.
