I made a table topper over Christmas and followed the instructions for envelope style instead of a separate backing. I have made lots of baby blankets this way with no problems. However, once I had it all together and quilted it, the edges will not lay flat. what can I do?

I'll try that Gina, thanks. By the way I'm impressed that you came up with this suggestion all our of your head since you have never had an edge that wouldn't lay flat! Great job.
I'm not sure Phyllis, I've never quilted one made this way. I have used this method for tied quilts. Sorry, I was not much help!
Life is like a quilt...bits & pieces, joy & sorrow, stitched with love
I know I wouldn't like my suggestion but what about cutting edging and enlarging.

can you top stitch over it? sometimes that will flatten it out. i have used several rows of straight stitch and decorative stitches.
