no more weighing myself two days in a row - gained back 1.5 lbs, what's with that?  anyways, ate healthier today, had Lean Cuisine for lunch and salad with shrimp for supper.  still need to get on treadmill tonight.  I even avoided the cookies someone brought to work - didn't even think about having one.  WILLPOWER supreme!

Angele:
With our cold snap though, the great thing is that we see the sun shining bright and crisp! That brings me up as I think the lack of sunshine really affects me.

Last winter the world seemed especially bleak. I went shopping and up-sized all my light bulbs to CFL daylight and to 23 watts. There were some lamps or fixtures turned on first thing upon rising and not turned out till bedtime. What a difference!  That was a new habit that I have retained. Seems we're having much more sun this year with all those cold temps. Suits me fine. I don't have to go out very often and generally can gear it to the weather.

Oh Agnes, this is a huge leap for you!  Congratulations!

Thanks, Donna. Another great day today with walking over half hour total and not feeling the time lag, unlike just a few days ago.

Well Debbie, I'm really glad you made this discovery early...LOL!  That is exactly why I don't weigh in daily!!!  (Hopefully other daily weighers are reading this too!)

Most of us have daily fluctuations that will drive us crazy if you are weighing every day.  The smarter way is to weigh once a week (at the most) so you will get an average for the week (not seeing the ups and downs) that is hopefully mostly to the down-side.  That is the reason weight-loss specialists like Curves, Weight-watchers, Tops, etc.  recommend only weighing in once a week (or even once a month)...too discouraging to do it daily and no benefit at all.

Really quickly, I'm at work but was inspired to write this out because I'm planning it.

So in order for me to keep up with exercise, I have to be motivated by a goal.  I know that about myself and for the month of January, my goal has been to elliptical/walk/run/jog 50 miles.

Ladies - I'm sitting at 45.5 miles!!!  I'll finish this out by the end of the week!

February I have added not only the 50 miles, but also 600 sit ups.  o_0    Scary but do-able.

MARCH - Yes, I have March planned out (yes I need this much motivation...lol), I am planning 50 miles, 600 sit ups, 120 - 1 minute (timed) planks (OUCH!!) and 1 hour of yoga a week.

Right now I could go into a blank room with my yoga mat and just stretch and pose until I fall apart.  I'm feeling tight but good from lifting heavy.  Now I need to incorporate a good bit of stretching.  That'll have to wait until late tonight unfortunately.

Have a wonderful Wednesday my loves!!

Hello everyone,

No I have not dropped out, just not been feeling too good and been very busy on top of that. So, I am up a couple of pounds. Motivated me to try Weight Watchers again.

I won't be on the boards for another couple of weeks, heading to Boston tomorrow to visit my pregnant daughter and meet the new inlaws. Driving up there, she wants me to bring her dog, (that I have had for 2.5 years!) and see if she works out with the new dog and no fenced backyard to play in. She is a Puggle, so who knows. What I do know is she is not a good traverler. Stocked up on children's Dramamine, lots of paper towels, 409, and taking all the "dog" towels to line the backseat and floor with.

I get the replies to this thread, and a couple of others, emailed to me so I can keep up on my Iphone. It seems as if some in the group are doing really great, and some, like me, not so much. It's great that the group is here to provide motivation and support.

I will check in when I return and I will be reading all your posts on my email.

Have a great couple of weeks.

Brandy (Modern_Mosaic_Mom):
Kris - SOOO glad they are keeping individual weight private!!  As they should!  I encourage you to stick with it!  You have us as well as your teammates to encourage you!  When does the competition end?

Thanks Brandy. We have 12 weeks.

I haven't changed much except to cut out the sodas. There was a time when I didn't drink them at all then I started hanging with DH and before I know it I'm having one a day. Still having trouble getting moving. It's so darn cold outside. I might try the treadmill in physical therapy this evening if I'm not busy.

I've also been trying to do squats while brushing my teeth and I still stretch each morning and evening.

Brandy (Modern_Mosaic_Mom):
I weighed in this morning and lost another 2 lbs!!  This makes 6 lbs total!

Congrats to you. You're doing really well.

Susie:
Anyway, I weighed myself this morning and was down 11# since the 1st!  I am SOOOOO excited!    Now, if I can only stick to this, I'll be where I want to be by the end of the year.

Wow Susie. WTG. Be sure to eat even though you don't feel hungry. You don't want to go into starvation mode.

Agnes:
After timing my walk for one round of stairs and hallways I have been doing the equivalent right in the apartment. There is an hour long TV show at 4 PM that I love to watch, even if it is reruns. I have been spending more than half of this time doing stretches and walking on the spot.. Last night for the first time in a long time I didn't have something sweet to finish my meal and my evening snack was 3 graham wafer crackers and I felt very satisfied. This is more like the routine that I had between 5 and 8 years ago when I lost 50 lbs. This time I am only looking at getting rid of the 15 that came back.

WTG Agnes. Slow and steady is good.

I am back home. My friend is in a better place now. Her funeral will be on Saturday. I have not weighed but my clothes feel looser so maybe Monday will bring a pleasant surprise. My son, dil and 2 grandchildren are living with me. My son does most of the cooking and grocery shopping. Not good. I have started shopping for fresh veggies and told him to fix whatever he liked but that I can't eat the way they do. I have my treadmill in my bedroom now so I just have to make myself get on it. I am still tired from having so little sleep while i was gone. I don't bounce back as quickly as I used to. LOL, go figure. Just ate a Weight Watchers Smart Ones. They are currently 5 for $10 so that is a pretty good lunch. I would really like to take a nap but guess I better get back to work. Have a healthy day!
