Good for you Brandy! Your up to a good start every day we do something to stay healthy or to get healthier is a good day.
Angèle from NWO
Thank you Marie and Debbie. I think I am going to start doing that. (Carrying a snack in my purse on the weekend.) I think I will also make sure we eat lunch before we take off to do anything. That should help.
Congrats to everyone that has been making healthy changes. Remember one day at a time and not to get down on yourself for slipping a day up. :)
Wendy, congratulations

Angele:Being able to talk to someone in the beginning saying I'm having a bad day,
Angele--Thanks for the kind words pf encouragement. My worst times are midnight and later when sleep eludes me. I was prowling in the apartment till 1:30 lat night. Not a good time to hit the big bad city streets for a walk, besides being -30 or thereabouts. I had a good walk in the afternoon. My sciatica was getting ready to talk to me so I opted to take the bus for the homeward distance..
I will be soon starting to work on Papa's Stars quilt for our grandson but there will be enough fabric to make a Vern's Hugs quilt as well for myself. I should start working on the quilted jacket . I am going to redo a fleece jacket I made for Vern, using it as the base and adding the quilt design outer. I have the stash all ready. That, too, should help.
Donna B:all things will come in their own good time.
Donna--Thanks for the encouraging words. I know it will come. Added to my stew was a request yesterday for me to commit myself to something I don't feel I am ready to do. Taking the position would put me back on a committee that Vern and I were jointly heavily involved with and we resigned this past summer when it became evident that there was no way we could continue. The request came from a gal that knows how to lay on the guilt trip but I will tell her a resounding No today and therefore look forward to a better night tonight. I am so glad I have my quilting friends online.
Debbie, I'm rooting for you to win that money for new clothes. Glad you are feeling better with your exercise routine and sleeping habits. Change is good!

There you are Leslie, how's it going? You haven't been very active in the threads I know work must be keeping you busy but I miss you.
Agnes
Sounds like you are moving forward alot better than you may think. Don't let anyone push you into doing something that you aren't ready to do.

Patti:Well, I gained some of what I lost
We are all going to experience this as we change to healthier living, Patti. It's ok as long as we don't lose site of our long term goal.
Patti:So this week, I will do better
That is exactly the words of a winner.
Wendy :Just wanted to let everyone know that I passed my physical with flying colors!!! Blood pressure is back down to normal. 114 over 79!!!!! Doc. says that my sugar levels are such that I will most likely never develop diabetes.
Wendy, a big congratulations to you for achieving this goal! I wish you good luck in your marathon, which you will do wonderfully in. Keep up the good work, so exciting!
Agnes, baby steps. I also personally know what it's like losing your husband, mine passed 4 years ago and it still feels like yesterday. (((((HUGS)))))
Donna B:For those of you struggling (like me), we will succeed... we just need to hang in there! It will come!!! We will have our day!
Well said Donna, I agree. Thank you for writing this.
Marie: There you are Leslie, how's it going? You haven't been very active in the threads I know work must be keeping you busy but I miss you.
Marie, im still here going back to work has been kicking my butt
i will join you, lead the way. I'm trying to squeaze in an hour after morning chores. I have my treadmill in the sewing room.(very crowded) I'm trying for a couple of miles 5 days a week before I turn on the sewing machine. Now if I can just finish the last half dozen christmas cookies I my loose a bit of of the old body.
was shamed into it by seeing a 102 year of woman (from Iowa, I think) on a news program who was getting her exercise at the local gym. Just a trucking along on the treadmill.
Leslie, thanks for responding, love you girl.
