Thanks Barbara. It's been coming down off an on since about 230 PM yesterday. It was coming down on the drive to and from work. It's wet and yucky. lots of slush on the roads. I'll be staying in this weekend. Again.
Kris, is this the norm for Maine in the winter? I always picture Maine as buried in snow int he wInter. Or, do you have more cold temps then tons of snow, normally?

not the norm for Sanford at all. Nothing like this since I've been here (5 years) and the locals say it's unusual. We're usually cooler for longer but not so much s**w here near the coast.
DH's sister lives 320 miles north of us and they're usually buried in it.
Now I know we are not getting anywhere near the amount some of you are, but here is my 'just above snow level' pictures for today. My friend in town has no show and crocus blooming.

Ah, we're still getting another inch or two every other day as well. Snowshoe season may extend into April at this rate. Come on ladies, we need some more pictures of flowers so we can dream of spring!
I agree, MNnancy. We just got a couple of inches last night too, and it is still sputtering a little. I have a daffodil in bud that came up thru the leaves and snow, but it is going to stay a bud until this cold is over. It may stay at the stage it's at for a month or so befre it shows its face. The tulips are also poking up thru the leaves that are covering them. I had to go out and move the packed leaves off the top of them so they don't deform. Ginny
Nancy, can't hlep you with the flowers,As I don't have any in bloom yet. ,I'll keep looking for some they should hopefully open by next week
Nancy, I still have two feet of snow in my flower garden! I could send a pic of that if you like. This year I'm beginning to believe that I have snow on the inside of my eyelids and it's not about to go away!

OK MNnancy, we are definitely in the melt-out period here in the Methow Valley! No crocuses or daffodils yet, but our little wildflowers called "spring beauties" are in their full glory...as little as they are:
(I put a quarter by them so you could see just how tiny they really are! There are probably 20 clumps within a foot of this one.
All the south-facing hillsides are covered with them.)
