I like the top one.  The fabrics you have are pretty busy and I think the plain sashing will highlight the patterns better.

I like the top one for a baby quilt.  The bottom one does look busy and not as soft as the top one.  Either would work but my vote is the top one.

The top one has a more modern feel to it and the bottom is more traditional.

i luuuurve the 2nd one. Brings out some of the prints and still gives it a scrappy look!

 I love the way quilts shrink up a bit after washing.  It makes them so soft and cuddly
